Kuwait has one of the highest levels of healthcare expenditure as a share of GDP in the Gulf Cooperative Council, driven by consistently high levels of healthcare investment and its Vision 2035 strategic development plan. In 2023, Kuwait’s health expenditure as a percentage of GDP was 5.1%, which fell just behind Saudi Arabia’s 5.6%.
